Before you call.
Can you build to my drawing?
Yes, and most of what we make is custom. Send a drawing, a schematic, a competitor part number, or a sketch with the requirement on it. We quote it against thirty years of tested configurations, which usually means you get a proven starting point instead of a clean-sheet design.
What is the minimum order?
There isn't one. A single prototype and a full production run get the same materials and the same workmanship. Small quantities are ordinary work here.
What frequency range do you cover?
1 MHz to 3 GHz across five product families. Type H transformers run 2 to 30 MHz, high-power transformers 1 to 80 MHz, Type U transformers 2 to 300 MHz, splitters and combiners 2 to 50 MHz, and the radial combiner 300 MHz to 3 GHz.
How much power can your components handle?
It depends on the family. Type H transformers handle up to 250 W, high-power transformers up to 1 kW, Type U transformers exceed 1 kW, splitters and combiners run from 600 W to 5 kW, and the radial combiner is rated to 16 kW pulse and 4 kW CW.
What impedance ratios can you build?
1:1 through 25:1 depending on the family. We also build into nonstandard impedance environments that most catalogs skip, including 5, 12.5, and 25 ohms. Tell us the impedance on each side and we will work out the ratio.
Are your components subject to ITAR or EAR export restrictions?
No. These are dual-use commercial components and are not defense articles, so there is no export licence to wait on. International orders ship direct at the speed of the freight.
Do you sell through distributors?
No. We sell direct, domestic and international. There is no distributor tier and no third-party fees layered onto your BOM, and you talk to the people who wind the part.
Why are balancing resistors not included with your combiners?
They are application-specific, so we leave the selection to you and include the provisions to fit them. With balancing resistors fitted, a failed amplifier drops the system to reduced power. Without them, output goes to zero. We build in the option either way.
What isolation and VSWR do you guarantee?
30 dB minimum isolation between splitter output and combiner input ports, and VSWR under 2:1 from 2 to 50 MHz. Those are floors we hold on every unit, not best-case figures from a sample.
What information do you need to quote a custom part?
Six things: the frequency band, the power level and duty cycle, the impedance ratio or the impedance on each side, the form factor and footprint you have to fit, the quantity and date you need it, and anything you are already working from such as a drawing or a competitor part number.
How quickly do you respond to a quote request?
Usually within one business day. We are open Monday through Thursday, 7:00 to 17:30 Pacific. Outside those hours email reaches us faster than the phone.
What insulation do you use on the windings?
Pre-wired versions come with TFE insulated wire as standard at no extra charge, because it is what lets the winding survive the thermal load. Coaxial cable windings are also available, and the high-power line can be built with all-metal heat sink construction.
Still have a question?
Tell us the band, the power level, the impedance ratio, and the footprint you have to fit. We'll tell you what it takes to match it, usually within a day.
